A Poem for Christ  by Amy Lim

Jesus Christ the love of my life
Without Him I could  never survive
Grace and mercy He is always showing
His unconditional love is truly amazing

At Calvary He died on Good Friday
For Victory it's the price He had to pay
I hope and pray that all could see
He was God's sacrifice for you and me

Salvation is free through Christ our Lord
Let us say Amen in one accord
Confess I m  sinner saved by grace
Eternal life with Christ I  shall embrace

Redemption is always close at hand
I  must continue to pray for our land
He came to prosper all who believe
A room in Heaven He promises to give

There's Silver and Gold paved on the floor
The  moment you enter Heaven's door
Living with the  Father , Son and Holy Spirit
There's even singing and dancing with King David

So people come one come all
In God's Kingdom we will have a Ball !!

After tennis fellowship last Friday, some of our ladies headed to Sunway Mas for our 'lunch with a purpose' @ Seremban Favourites ie. hakka mee and char siew.
To create GG awareness, we introduced ourselves as volunteers with Generasi Gemilang. After lunch, we proceeded to a hair salon a few shoplots away to 'bless' the salon owner with a goodie bag.

By the grace of God......

Cited in Letters of John Newton, p. 400 and shared by J. Taylor, Gospel Coalition.

I am not what I ought to be.
Ah! how imperfect and deficient.

Not what I might be,
considering my privileges and opportunities.

Not what I wish to be.
God, who knows my heart, knows I wish to be like him.

I am not what I hope to be;
ere long to drop this clay tabernacle, to be like him and see him as He is.

Not what I once was,
a child of sin, and slave of the devil.

Thought not all these,

not what I ought to be,
not what I might be,
not what I wish or hope to be, and
not what once was,

I think I can truly say with the apostle,

“By the grace of God I am what I am.”

Ladies Combined Meeting

SIB held the 1st combined meeting of the year today and what a great way to start the year! The guests were from DUMC headed by Doris Ho and her team sharing their experiences in prayer. Their passion was tangible and infectious.

There were a number of things to take back but these particularly stood out for me :

  1. everyone should learn to worship not just worship ministry teams because worship is about ministering to the heart of God firstly and then ministering to one another;
  2. worship and prayer are not different activities (compartments) but one flows into the other and are integrated
  3. whilst God looks at our heart, learning how to carry a tune helps!

We know we are called to pray, we know that when we pray God works and the impossible becomes possible but yet it is so hard to pray. It is easier to almost do everything else but pray.

The DUMC team shared some tips:

  • It is not easy for many to pray in a corporate setting. That's ok as prayer in whatever platform is still prayer, so starting in small groups is fine,
  • Find a few anointed prayer warriors to champion each prayer meeting,
  • Share a vision so that there is unity and passion, purpose and direction
  • And finally... just do it!
Well.... what are we waiting for?

Trust

Making commitments generates hope
Keeping commitments generates trust

We were designed by God to trust
Trust is like a rope attached to God, your spouse, business partner etc
Whatever u trust in, He will lead you

When we have trust issues, our fist are closed up
Got to learn to 'open up' and trust again ie to trust in the Lord again
Trust opens the door to guidance
When you have trust issues, you are like a trapeze swinging to and fro, not wanting to let go.
Need to release and catch the other person's hand to go to the next level
Learning how to trust God and other people again.

Trusting wisely......
Jesus example : ...and whilst being reviled, He did not revile in return;
Whilst suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously.
